Wine and Design Niagara Wine Tour

Sample fine Ontario wines while learning about the unique design of four wineries known for their innovative use of architecture to achieve environmental sustainability. Get an inside look at the unique design of some of the Ontario wineries leading in innovation. This tour takes place on Saturday, October 22 and will include an afternoon break for lunch in the beautiful town of Niagara on the Lake and visits to:


Megalomaniac Winery
Experience the uniquely designed architecture of an underground Winery Cellar built into a hill.

Flat Rock Cellars
Learn about how to design an eco-friendly winery from the ground up. Meet owner Ed Madronich and hear his experience with architectural challenges.

Southbrook Winery
Explore the famous Southbrook blue wall created by Diamond & Schmitt Architects for the first winery to receive the Gold-level LEED Certification (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design from the Canada Green Building Council).

Stratus Vineyards
Enjoy Learning about how Stratus Vineyards built the first building in Canada to receive LEED Certification and then how they became the first winery worldwide to fully achieve this designation.
