Air Canada's enRoute magazine launches the enRoute Hotel Design Awards. Now open for entries.

New partnership announced with IDC and IIDEXIDC/IIDEX

Air Canada's enRoute magazine is pleased to announce a new partnership with Interior Designers of Canada (IDC) and IIDEX/NeoCon Canada for its first-ever enRoute Hotel Design Awards.

The awards program, launched by enRoute this month, will celebrate the best Canadian-designed hotels around the world. The winners will be featured in the September 2011 issue of the magazine and at www.enroute.aircanada.com. In addition, the winners will be presented at a special awards ceremony held during IIDEX/NeoCon Canada, the national design exposition and conference for the built environment owned by Interior Designers of Canada (IDC).

Judged by an international panel of industry experts, including Jean-Michel Gathy, Jean Pelland, Todd Saunders and Patricia Urquiola, the awards will recognize the outstanding achievements by Canadian designers and architects working in the hospitality realm. The jury will be judging the designs based on creativity, aesthetic impact, functionality, comfort, sustainable features and innovation in 10 categories. We will be looking for projects that take hotel design to the next level, thereby enriching the travel experience.

This unique partnership is very fitting given the new hospitality show being launched as part of IIDEX/NeoCon Canada in 2011. For the awards presentation, enRoute, IDC and IIDEX are planning a thought-provoking hospitality keynote presentation. Attendees will then be invited onto the show floor to visit over 350 exhibitors and network with interior designers, architects and facility managers from across North America.

What/When: Thursday, January 27: Meet Jean-François Légaré, enRoute Senior Editor, at the Interior Designers of Canada booth #1820 during the opening-night party of the Interior Design Show from 8 to 9 p.m. to launch the awards.

Friday, January 28: Meet Susan Nerberg, enRoute Deputy Editor, at the Interior Designers of Canada booth #1820 on trade day of the Interior Design Show from 10 to 11 a.m. to introduce the awards to design professionals.

How: Nominations are now open and entries must be submitted no later than March 10, 2011. To learn more and to submit your entry, visit: www.enroute.aircanada.com/hotelawards. Entry to the awards is free.
