IDC and its chapters have a number of volunteer opportunities available throughout the year to help you get involved.
Volunteering provides leadership opportunities to share your expertise, promotes personal growth and enriches your community. By joining an event committee you will be an essential part in planning an event with the goal of engaging attendees and educating the public about the interior design industry.
Your time and effort will build connections
and make this a truly rewarding experience.
There are two types of event committees: internal and external. Internal event committees organize events that foster relationship-building and networking among the interior design community, like golf or bowling tournaments. External event committees organize events that put the interior design profession in front of the public to let them know who we are and what we do, like CANstruction which supports the food bank.
Committees are made up of a combination of interior designers and industry members, all of whom must be active members. Participation is on a first come, first served basis and IDC members who participate on an event committee can claim 1 non-IDCEC hour per year for professional development. Planning an event takes time and the length of your commitment will vary by event.
