    WELL BUILDING STANDARD

    2 - 3:30 p.m.| 1.5 IDCEC hour (HSW)

The WELL Building Standard® (WELL) is a performance-based green building rating system that focuses on the health and wellness of building occupants. With increased awareness of how the built environment can protect and enhance human health, it is more important than ever that interior designers understand our role in the process. Designed to work in conjunction with other rating systems, including LEED, WELL delves further into the occupant experience. To obtain WELL Building Standard certification, a project must meet requirements within seven concepts: air, water, nourishment, light, fitness, comfort and mind.

This session offers an overview of how WELL works and covers select features in more detail to provide further insight into the system. A holistic, wellness-centred approach to interior design will be shared to enable design practitioners to apply principles inherent to WELL into their daily work.

PRESENTER: SHARON HOLLINGSWORTH, RID, BADID, IDIBC, WELL AP, LEED AP BD+C
