    Susan and Ada will provide an overview of IDC's 2014/2015 strategic plan, and share details on new programs and services that have recently been launched. Feedback and ideas are welcome in order to ensure continuous improvement of IDC's programming and outreach initiatives.

    10:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. SEVEN SUCCESSFUL MARKETING PRINCIPLES by Barbara Bowes (2 IDCEC hours)

    Join Barbara Bowes for this two hour seminar on the seven successful marketing principles and how they can apply to your firm’s marketing plan. Attendees will learn strategies for building awareness, getting recognized and building your brand. Participants will take away concrete tools and ideas to apply to their firm.

    This one hour seminar will examine branding and the role social media plays in creating an emotional connection. In addition, Donavan will discuss the definition of a brand and how it can help drive your business as well as what branding means in the age of social media. By reviewing some case studies, this seminar will help you to successfully build your brand through social media.

    Donavan Robinson, Managing Director, Vantage Studios
    Donavan has nearly two decades of experience in the commercial art industry, with an extensive background in graphic design and digital media. Throughout the development of Vantage Studios, Donavan’s role has adapted to include overseeing and managing staff, business development and upholding studio standards. He has been on the board of directors for many organizations including the Future Leaders of Manitoba and the Red River College advisory board. Mr. Robinson also is an operating partner in Greenroom Cabaret and A Little Pizza Heaven.

    Interior designers understand the critical importance of planning. In this session, you’ll learn how to apply planning to your business and ensure that your strategy is executed and implemented successfully. This session will explore market factors relevant to interior designers including P3s, government policy and the economy, and discuss how you can incorporate them in your planning.  Brian will introduce a focus on LEAN Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) and share why it is the "next big thing" in the design world.
