What We Do

Member services

Our vision is to ensure that our members are competent, trained professionals with access to the latest business tools, education, communications and networking opportunities.

We currently deliver an average of 70 continuing education opportunities per year to our membership. Professional development is a mandatory requirement of membership in each provincial association. We have identified a number of highly qualified speakers who deliver timely, relevant education on topics ranging from sustainable design strategies to lighting, to building code updates and changes.

In addition, we provide our members with opportunities to stay informed through our primary communications vehicles - this website, our monthly e-newsletter and our quarterly magazine, Dimensions.

Finally, working with the provincial associations, we provide a number of opportunities for our members to share best business practices and meet new colleagues through a variety of social/networking and local charitable/community events.

In some cases, our events are targeted to a certain category of membership. We undertake a number of student events each year to ensure the future generation of interior designers has an opportunity to appreciate the unique values and benefit of commitment to a professional association. We also run some events for principals and owners of firms who have a unique need for expanding their knowledge of the principles of firm ownership and business success.
