IDIBC Seminar: Lighting Trends - New Technology, New Ideas

Thursday, April 7, 2011
4 - 6 p.m.

This two hour seminar is designed for Interior Designers who are involved in the renovating or designing of new facilities.

Participants will have the opportunity to view product samples and learn about the newest energy-efficient lighting design techniques while keeping aesthetics in mind.  The most recent updates in high efficiency lamps and ballasts, luminaries, lighting controls (sensors and daylighting) and solid-state lighting will also be discussed.

Case studies will be presented to show how energy savings translate into cost savings for your clients whilst meeting the functionality and aesthetic requirements of projects. An overview of Power Smart incentives and rebates for lighting will also be provided including solutions to achieve the incentives (exceed ASHRAE requirements) whilst meeting the design criteria.

Participants can expect to leave the workshop with an understanding of some great lighting design tools currently available to interior designers as well as tips on disposal of products, assisting you in meeting the increasing sustainability demands of your clients.
