Tour: Private Corporate Offices - Edelman PR

Wednesday, April 20, 2011
6 to 7:30 p.m.

Thinking differently is the Edelman ethos and this was reflected in the newly finished, 20,000 sq. ft. space of their Canadian flagship office in Toronto. The global PR firm,  with 53 offices worldwide, wanted to transition from a private office culture to a dynamic open plan that would encourage greater collaboration and creativity. They also wanted a unique and vibrant brand statement that provided Toronto and Canadian individuation.

Barlett and Associates designed an open space plan organized around neighbourhoods with a mix of nearby breakout rooms and open/closed meeting areas, and a multi-function Café area that is also used for “Edelman University” seminars, produced the collaboration the agency was looking for. A rectilinear design creates interplay with transparent glass boxes throughout the space allowing visitors and staff to “see” colorful murals that visually connect to corridors to make the boxes — and the whole space — seem larger.
